School Organic Recycling (SOR) Program

School Organic Recycling's primary goal is to teach environmental stewardship to our future generation. The steps include; teaching children how to recycle their organic waste material (creating compost), using this material to plant edible gardens, harvesting the fruits and veggies, and eating the produce grown. This shows them where their food comes from, stressing the importance of good nutrition and good environmental stewardship by returning the organic waste back to the soil.

Municipality Workshop (MW) Program

Education for the adult public (the current stewards). Environmental Education Services and Programs (EESP) conducts Municipality Workshops in the community to bring awareness and education to residents. These workshops are often informal settings conducted in convenient community Nature or Garden Centers. Participates learn about the problems with organic waste issues and shown how easy it is to manage organic recycling into rich soil amendment.

Community Outreach (CO) Program

Community Outreach Programs is another source of education to the surrounding communities. EESP presents environmental education presentation at the majority of these events and also have informational booths to handle one on one questions/problems and concerns. We also promote the School and Municipal Workshop Programs during these outreach events.
